Did the windows in this hotel open? Is that a thing in Las Vegas?

I saw a picture on CNN or WSJ that made it look like he busted the windows out.

It's already a thing. There have been about 4 or 5 mass shootings at concerts in the last few years (..most notably the Ariana Grande concert and the concert shooting in Paris in 2015).

I've stayed at Mandalay Bay, the windows are super thick and go from floor to ceiling, they do not open and there are no balconies.

I guess it's possible he just shot through them to start the attack.

Does anyone else feel like the sounds heard in most of these videos are NOT an AR? To me it doesn't sound like a .223

You wouldn't be able to see much from that distance at night.
But I did hear he had camera setup to see police approach (his room?) so he could off himself before they got to him.

What? My post of it's been a while since OJ has killed any white people didn't make the cut (pun intended)?

Apparently he smashed the window out with a hammer prior to opening fire. 58 dead now, jeebus.

It's hard to say with the echoing. I'm thinking that whatever he is using, he likely had a drum attached to it.

Sounds way too "snappy" to be an AR...

Here are the windows:

Seems like a REALLY big room if he shot from both locations. Looks like two different rooms to me... IIRC our room only had about 6 of those windows.

Does anyone think it's a true full-auto or a binary trigger or hand crank?

They found 10+ guns in the suite with him, so maybe he was firing multiple weapons?

A fully auto AR shooting 5.56 sounds very similar. I doubt he was shooting .308, but again, it's hard to say really. He probably had various caliber AR's and an assortment of AK's too. All speculation [regarding calibers] of course.

Considering that it's Las Vegas, it very well could have been full-auto. I've shot full auto rifles in Las Vegas.

Well, within 12 hours the FBI can say with complete certitude that there is no connection between the shooter and terrorism. Unlike the investigation of Trump and collusion which is still ongoing for almost a year and no definite yet...

It sure sounded like a full auto. I've never shot a binary trigger but wouldn't you get quick 2 round bursts?
