No more ammo in CA

New regulations coming into effect on January 1st means you must purchase ammo through a permitted gun shop. No more ordering online directly.

Just one problem - they haven't permitted any shops yet. So that means there will be a time when we can't legally buy ammo. Welp.

Time to stock up.

What's intesting is the wording that "importing" ammo, ie, for personal use, not resale, is unlawful! In my most humble opinion, there is no way that provision could stand scrutiny! But who wants to be the test case?

The bigger problem is the complete progressive liberalism which permeates politics there and unfortunately encumbers law abiding citizens from exercising their Righs without jumping through ever increasing hardship and ridiculous cost. Is by design and DeFacto restricts your 2nd Amendment Rights. If they placed the same encumberance upon say, same sex marriage, or voting... Could you imagine the outcry?

This is factually incorrect, you absolutely "can" buy ammo online, you just need to deal with the few vendors that go through the trouble of understanding NY law. Until the NYSP has its so called database up and running and sends notification as such, the provision for face to face sales of ammunition is exempt.

I buy online regularly... Of course this does not apply to NY City.

Regards

Leave it to CA and NY to make NJ's idiotic gun laws better by comparison. I have some relatives in both states who have to deal with truly absurd obstacles to own their firearms. I feel for you, gentlemen.

I was slowly stockpiling ammo during 2017 for this very reason. I'm a blip of red surrounded by a sea of blue dolts out here in SoCal.

The anti-2A sentiment here is unreal...

Welp, I just bought 600rds of XM193 5.56 through PSA ($150 after rebate, good deal right now in case anyone is interested). I look forward to UPS leaving it at my doorstep in the near future.

Aside from reloading another work around some people are doing it to become an FFL03. I thought it would've been much more expensive but even if it's $101 plus a lifescan that's not bad...

anybody stocking up on large trucks? Evidently that is the next big thing that can be used for random and mass killing.

France has been stunned and sickened by a third massacre in 18 months in which a truck driver mowed down night-time crowds celebrating Bastille Day on the seafront in Nice. He killed at least 84 people and injured scores more, many of them small children.
