I guess her clinging to the drapes and refusing to retire, gives the lie to John Roberts’ rebuke to Trump that we have no Democrat judges or Republican judges.

Does anyone think that we are well served by a governing class comprised of mainly failing octogenarians?

This applies to both parties.

Depends. If you are looking for constitutionalists that don't believe gender is fluid, then I'd argue yes.

Applies to failing septagenarians too, even (especially) at the highest levels clinging to their Autocrat-gold drapes.

But point taken, maybe some fresh blood and thinking (post neo liberal orthodoxy) would be welcome.

Hello AOC...

Hello AOC...

Note I said it applied to both parties. John McCain clung to his Senate seat so that he could serve enough of his term to have the Governor appoint his successor. It didn’t matter to him that his state only had one Senator for almost a year.

Those septuagenarians are fast aging out of their seventies. AOC? There has to be some middle ground between the incoherence of Nancy Pelosi and the vacuity of the high school cheer leader.

New ideas? Das Kapital is over 200 years old.

what kind of god complex are you dealing with where you think you have to stay at your job until your last breath?

I'm not a kidnapper or anything alike, but at this point I need to see proof of live for RGB. When she was "healthy" she had one foot here and the other on the "next" world....

This is irrefutably 100% correct, and Roberts is 100% wrong. Maybe once RBG retires he will be partially correct.

Case in point; long time Miami Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtenen (R-Dade) retired at 66 after 30 or so years in office.
The vacant seat was filled by first time U.S. Representative, former Clinton Cabinet member, 77 year old Donna Shalala.

77! That’s not a typo.

If you are obsessed with power and a raging narcissist, then it's the obvious course of action.

This is great but also frustrating. I feel like a kid in candy store, so many great choices but I am only allowed to pick one.

If you had to pick today, who would you pick?

Not a prediction, mind you, but if you could select the Dem candidate - who would you pick?

Kamala Harris. Why? Half the job of the next President will be to clean the mess that Trump made so I feel like we need someone with a strong legal background and only then we should focus on "socialism".

Wikipedia says...

“As of January 2019; 137 individuals have filed with the Federal Election Commission to run for President in the Democratic Party primary,” including:

Oscar de la Hoya (yes, the ex-boxer) and
Angelina Jolie (yes, Brad Pitt’s ex)

137 candidates and counting...
...it’s a freakin free-for-all !!!

Thanks for answering the question.

But seriously, if you want to live in a socialist state, wouldn’t it be easier to move to a socialist state rather than trying to change the USA into another socialist state?

(Hint: there are plenty of options for you to choose)

I spend my time between the US and Europe. Europe could learn a bit of America's entrepreneurship, while the US could learn how to do social services the right way.
