Right rear axle area clank when accel/decel
This issue happens only when in first or second gear, a little "clank" sound like someone tapping the diff/axle area with a small hammer upon initial accel or decel.
I had the wheels off doing the brakes recently and turned the rear hubs by hand...the right-rear would do this clank each time I switched direction but the left was fine.
Is this 100% an axle issue? Or could it be something in the differential? It sounded like it was coming from the CV joint area of the RR axle but I am unsure if this could be something to do with the differential itself or if I am safe to assume axle issue and just replace the thing.
Thanks for the help.
