JJR4884 Part-out feeler thread

Hi All

Been a while - the time has come to unfortunately accept the future of my car and realize that the trade in/sell value might not be worth the parts I can get for it. So I am trying to gauge interest for the time being and plan on giving these parts back to the community at a fair price. If I can make a certain amount back and then junk the car, i'll do that. If not, i'll try to sell it outright.

But here goes - the right frame has rust and my rear right jack support is no longer there due to the rust damage. The rest of the body has minor rust spots around the fenders, and my front bumper got pretty banged up after clipping something on the highway back in the winter. Rough estimate to bring the car back to new looking condition with fixing the rust and essentially a full respray, $4500. Would love to do it, but I'm not going to. So here is what I have that might be worth the part out.

UUC TSE3 Corsa Exhause Cat Back
Vorsteiner CSL trunk (handle-less painted silvergray)
M3 side mirrors (silvergray)
ZHP Side Skirts (silvergray)
M3 leather steering wheel with airbag
Black ZHP headliner with sunroof, handles, and sun visors (the pillars are eh)
Imola dyed M3 interior with power/heated seats. Did this 6 years ago - the rear seats still look almost new, and the passenger seat has some cracking. The driver seat isn't in the best condition
OEM LED rear tails
3.38 Diff
19" ESM 004 Rims and Tires - 235/35R19 F 255/30R19 Rear - Continentals that have one season on them. These are easily the best BBS LM replicas I could find and have the staggered lip in the rear. These fix non-m cars really well. They are in decent condition

If anyone has any interest, i am accepting all reasonable offers so please let me know if there is any interest that way I can gauge whether or not I'd go down the part out route or just try to sell it for cheap. If you are interested in the full car as well, please let me know. 18" Style 71's wrapped in 6 month old Blizzaks would also come with the car.

She actually runs really good and passed inspection a year ago and takes about a quart of oil every 1200 miles. But the body is hurting and just isn't worth the cost to make her pretty again.

I can send pics to anyone that shows interest. Located in RI, definitely prefer to not ship hence the New England post. Thank you in advance!

JJR

P.S.

If you even so much as think about getting a "world's most hideous BMW face" F30, I will come to RI, hunt you down, take the car and smash it into a tree.

The G20 looks SO much better, it's not even comparable. Then again, there is always an E39 M5 around somewhere for way LOWER than your price range seems to dictate.

If you went to the recent BMW ultimate driving experience, you would have been able to see first hand how good the G20 is. But yeah = 40 grand base, and as driven at the Ultimate Driving experience, $59Km which included basically all packages including the M track pack. Car was like GLUE, but I question the 4 banger turbo's prowess at highway speeds, which I was unable to test.\

At LEAST make sure you LCI it.

Not this:

How'd i know you'd show up lol

I'm test driving two 2016 AW/Red 6spd 435 M-sports on Sunday. One has LED headlights/black roof/cf trunk spoiler, the other one has front cf splitter, cf mirrors, m performance power kit, and that dumb black side sticker. Love the G20 but they don't come with 3 pedals and there is no f*cking way i'm spending $55k on an entry level 3 series. F that.

I'm good, what's new?
The e46 is still in the garage, can't be assed to fix/find the reason it wont pass a smog inspection. i keep ordering maintenance parts, then they get put on a shelf to collect dust and, every time i get in it some plastic part reminds me how old the car is, or i lose a few more pixels on the nav screen.

Sucks man. Ive also come to the realization that i would never get back the money , sweat , blood and tears ive put in my e46. Basically at this point for me its just keeping it maintained and using it to commute to work until its not worth fixing like you said.

How many miles on the car? Curious to see pics of the car and the condition.

Have you thought about leasing? There is a lease broker in new england who puts up some great deals on new , demo and loaner cars. Last month he had 340 m sport demo cars going for like 329 a month with basic upfront fees.

Hi all

435 aquired, e46 retained. I might not part out. The car is worth nothing but sentimental value to me so if i want to keep both, i'll slowly bring the e46 back to life over the next year or so. She needs some work thats for certain but for now, she is perfect for crappy weather days where i just need to get from point a to point b.

if anyone has a silvery gray bumper laying around i could use that

Hi guys, been lurking here forever (prob early 2000s) but my work always kept me from meets and such. Reading this thread, JJR I'm glad you decided to keep your E46 and slowly bring it back to life. I am in the identical situation and mine even looks exactly like yours (csl trunk, esr wheels etc) only mine is black. '04 6 speed, swapped a ZHP motor that my buddy refreshed when I got it with 60k miles on it after my original motor went. Jack points rusting badly as are the quarters, front bumper is cracked and hood is chipped to he!!. 2 yrs ago I picked up an m235i xdrive with 9k miles on it and love it. Turner tuned it, KW V3s, etc. But I still LOVE the way the e46 drives and can not part with it. Urethane everything, PSS10s, sways, diff swap, pulleys, tune, z3M steering rack, etc etc.... way way too many mods to even try to list.

None of the new cars give you the same sensation even with 150 more hp. Sorry to go off on my personal cars, but I feel you 100%. I am going to gradually repair the mechanical issues 1st, then cosmetics over the next year. I drive my 2 cars equally during the week, and I swear the 330ci gets way more compliments than the m235. Granted it's had the rear widened and an M3 rear end/exhaust done- NO M3 badges or fake vents lol !! Good luck to you, and hopefully one day I will get to meet you guys. I lived near the New Bedford/Cape area forever, now I'm, in West Roxbury near Dedham.

Ari

Wow some real OGís in this thread! Ari you sold me your used manifolds/cats years ago for my wifeís wagon which worked perfectly and are still in that car to this day. Car was sold to a friend fit his son, has well over 200k mikes now and is a rusty cigarette smoked in skank box. Lost reverse gear like 3 years ago and itís still driving forward lol. Imma post a pic in a minute.

Russo pics of 435i NOWWWWW. And I have some e46 spares around and my buddy now owns 3 and I have him a few boxes thatíd spares. You need anything just holla and I will see what I got, keep her running on the cheap!
