My Ride: my favorite two feet
SRO-uh oh?

Came across this video the other day, I recall this argument of design coming up before with the Delta point pro against the RMR, thoughts??

Personally I think comparing the SRO to the RMR isn't a true apples to apples despite them sharing the same footprint. I think a more fair and interesting comparison would be the DPP vs SRO vs ACRO

I was all gung-ho about getting the SRO until I talked to a Trijicon rep a few weeks ago and learned that they didn’t recommend the SRO for duty use. Then I saw the Sage Dynamics video. Got to talking to a friend who is a national 3-gun competitor and he said the SRO was designed to compete with the C-More optics for competition. Makes sense.

The DPP has been a pretty reliable optic for our guys running them on duty and in training. The DPP has reinforcements in the hood to protect it from impacts. We have had 5 different optics on duty guns, and the DPP was the #2 prior to the ACRO coming out. Not to the level of reliability and durability of the RMR, but a significant step up from the RMS Shield and Sig Romeo1.

We have 2 guys now with ACROs and I have my slide from my Robar G17 on the way back to Robar to have the Unity ATOM mount installed so that I can run an ACRO. I got some time on the ACRO a couple weeks ago and I was impressed. The dot picks up a lot easier than with the RMR. Also hard to argue with the sealed optic design.

Trijicon supposedly is working on the RMR Type 3, which is rumored to be a sealed housing like the ACRO. Haven’t heard much more than rumors, but given that those rumors were coming from national firearms instructors, I think it’s a high likelihood.
