Help: Rattle from rear seat

Wife's 2001 325Ci 75,000 km.

There is a rattle that is coming from the driver's side rear seat. I know that this is the cause because when I drive with that rear seat folded down there is no rattle. Anyone know the fix for this (besides always driving with the seat down)?

Thx.

There is a side plastic piece that the rear side seat belt goes over. Underneath that piece, you can stick on felt to stop the rattling or squeaking. Right next to that piece, there is a long platic bar that the top of the rear seat leans on. Put felt on the contact areas to eliminate any gap and stop the rattling. If it still rattles, then you may need some felt under the long plastic piece.

After some 6 months of effort, I finally eliminated all rattles and squeaks in my cabin. I fixed the rear seat rattle only the other day. I put silicone sealant on the back of the long plastic bar. Then I taped the underside of the side pieces with duct tape. Once put back into place, I then I taped those pieces to the long plastic bar. Then I put some more tape on the bar itself. Now I have complete silence, and the car feels superbly nice. I was using duct tape because I didn't have any felt and it seemed to be working. Because the tape was black, it wasn't too noticeable against the black plastic when the seats were folded down.
