That is until I broke my supercharger lol. But seriously, i used the pigtail and maf, scaled it and went with larger injectors. (MS43 MAF hack, FI setting on ECU). Only had to tune a few flat spots. works well, prob not pristine with my limited tuning but good enough that I don't feel a need to mess with it.

I would love to know the details of the SVT Maf.

Started today. Quickly got the headers out and found the AC lines hit the manifold, but not where I was expecting. I thought the turbo would hit the lines near the inlet, but the front of the manifold is hitting the hardline coming out of the compressor, nearest the block. Has anyone successfully bent this out? If not Im just going to remove the line tomorrow and continue on.

I remember reading that e30 A/C lines will work in place of your lines without having the clearance issues. You could try that. Do not try to bend. Those lines heat and cool to often and will inevitably rupture. Please update about rusted manifold bolts. How are you removing them? Mine are so bad, I was planing on using an air chisel.

Ive bent ac line before and had 3/8 inch distance between manifold and a/c lines and 2 years no problem ,although my V band clamps on turbo rubbed through rubber part of the hose. And i dont think you should have problems taking out the manifold bolts , cuz those nuts are copper coated so they should back out easy with a stud from the head

Did anyone have issues with the turbo drain being directly over the frame rail, or any clearance issues with the second downpipe section hitting the transmission?

I threw away cx racing downpipe , its 2.5 inch and fitment is garbage , so I bought mandrell bent piping and only used 2 pieces from an assortment ive got for 180 , used a 45 degree and 1 foot straight and it fits much better than cx racing , and its a 3inch , the drain however , ive always had problems with no matter how i route it with ac in , the line would eventually kink after few heat cycles , so I delete ac completely and drilled a hole in a block and I out the drain where ac used to be , so AC never going back in same location ,but I already have a fix for that ( using a prius electric A/C unit in the corner ) And a screamer pipe goes down , and I drilled a hole in the skid plate so it shoots down , maybe ill run it in to a down pipe later

Big turbo=big wastegate and looking at the manifold design you should try and keep the turbo as small as possible to make your power requirements. How much boost are you guys planning on running?

Injectors aren't stock. I made my own base map for the injectors a while ago to get me by, but I don't expect that tune to work given the different maf I'm running. I have a custom flashed 512 and 64

Did you add any fuel or is it "stock" injector fuel values but scaled specifically for your injectors?

I'm asking because I want to see if my car will idle with the stock tune when I test fit everything

When the times comes your help would be greatly appreciated...from many people.

But just to share something I learned:
I contacted CX-Racing because their kit runs the STOCK maf AFTER the intercooler (meaning it is under boost.) I asked them about this.
They claim they can reliably run 8 lbs of boost with that setup.

Couple things:

What coils do you have there?

Why don’t you tune it yourself? You seem fairly knowledgeable...
Is the MAF complicating it for you?

How’s the AC?

I hopefully should be joining you guys in a couple months when I save up enough money. I own an 01 330xi and will be aiming for a reliable build around 400 hp using the cx turbo kit so basically what CarbonZHP is doing. And I want to keep AC cause it's mandatory in Texas. I wish I could help you build yours cause any details or issues you come across I am likely to deal with the same issue. I have a second ECU and will be practicing tuning my car as is on MS43 in hopes I can tune the car myself with help. A lot of people say they want to do this and never follow through or leave out a ton of details so I'm excited you guys are going through more details.

I have a few MS43s. My intention was to keep AC but it got thrown out pretty quickly. My route does allow for the least mofidication to make it work, but the lines coming off the compressor will still need modification to work. I also ran into space issues, and my blowoff valve is currently oriented where the AC compressor was.

I am doing all of this in my spare time at European Auto Source, usually a couple hours at the end of each day. I am mostly done. I still need to weld up the remainder of my exhaust, supply vacuum to the factory F piece near the factory MAF, secure the fan in, and heat wrap the exhaust. Boost controller and wideband are completed.

I ran into fitment issues with the second section of the CXRacing downpipe. I believe this is because I have a 6 speed, and the transmission mount is further toward the rear of the car. I cut the downpipe immediately after the flex, rotated slightly, and it fits perfectly now.

You need to move the wiring harness near the exhaust housing. It will be cooked in no time.
