Are you referring to the leagues stance on this, or LeBron James' moronic comments on the situation, I would like to say LeBron doesn't speak for the league but anyone who knows anything about the NBA knows what he says pretty much goes, interested to see what comes of all this after his comments.

When has a corporation not chosen money over something else? That South Park episode was great

https://southpark.cc.com/full-episod...&sort=!airdate

It's kinda funny because we always thought China would adopt our ideas when they got more advanced but it's the other way around simply because they are bigger.

Ok, let's talk. Here's where Trump condemns Hong Kongers:

Remind me why the NBA should contradict the orange one?

On the domestic front, he has done this with Pelosi after the 2018 mid-terms when he thought she might be willing to work with him on some issues and get some things done. He heaped praise on her at that time in a very public way. Sometimes a little flattery goes a long way on people with giant egos.
Of course, another Trump tactic, is to completely reverse course and publicly denigrate the same person he had previously praised, when and if they donít play ball.
Some people donít understand how he works and it drives them crazy.

Trump has bigger fish to fry when it comes to China. He is in the middle of negotiations with Xi on long-standing trade issues and making some progress.
Trump knows the HK issue is extremely sensitive to the Chinese. He is being careful not to anger the Chinese, while respectfully urging them to exercise restraint.
Trump does not want to kick the hornets nest, like the NBA did, and mess up the China trade negotiations.
Trump is smart.

Having said that, I feel for the people in HK and support their cause for freedom and fair treatment and the raw deal they are getting with all the broken agreements which kicked off the protests.

Maybe once these economic issues are hammered out and more fairness is restored in our trading relationship, maybe we can then put more pressure on China with respect to human rights. Then again, maybe not. China is a powerful, aggressive, and brutal communist dictatorship that does not much care what non-Chinese think about their internal policies.
The Chinese have shown their aggression and brutality in Tibet, now HK, and in the future...Taiwan. They view all these areas as part of China and are working a long term agenda to unify them under communist rule.
China is the superpower to worry about.

Ed starts a thread about Trump being impeached, turns it into a platform for him to publicly blow Trump.

The audio of LeBron saying it makes it 1,000 times funnier, couldn't get the words out, he is the perfect example of someone that thinks he is so much smarter than he actually is, its a result of being surrounded with yes men his entire life.

NBA chooses money over freedom

^yes.
This is true of many celebrities in Hollywood and music as well as sports.
People that get a lot of fame and popularity and money start to think they are smarter than everyone else or that their opinions matter more than everyone else.
Itís particularly bad in Hollywood where stars live in bubbles inside of bubbles. The Local Bubble is their entourage, yesmen, and sycophants feeding off them and feeding their massive egos. And of course this local bubble exists with the ultraliberal TV and movie industry bubble that lives and works primarily in the liberal coastal community bubbles of LA and SF (California) and NYC.
Bubbles within bubbles within...

No wonder they say stupid shjt.

There is no disputing that Trump has a big ego, but I was thinking of people more like Robert DeNiro and Alec Baldwin (and so many others) who think that their acting chops translate into political and social genius.

DeNiro and Baldwin have the same business running this country as Trump does, which is none.
