I just watched a workout video and it now I'm pissed off. All the squatting, deadlift and lunges, etc., I can't do right now because of my back/disk/sciatic problem. So fvcking frustrating!!!

Thanks. I actually like this idea. I've done it with a few other exercises. Squats was insane. After 160 squats I wanted to kill myself. Haha

I like it as well! I'll likely mix in days where I lift 80% of my 1RM (..on any given lift)....one or two reps per set to total 25-30 reps, perform endurance days where I lift for rounds or time, etc. I am altering my program a tad; I spent 5 months performing 1RM's every week (..and to great effect I might add; every lift shot through the roof in a very short period of time. The only thing that I still 1RM is the dead lift every 3 weeks or so), so a change was needed because I was feeling the onset of boredom.

Finally got my hands on bumper plates and found a platform. IT IS ON AND CRACKIN' NOW!!! My power clean/snatch weights are likely going to increase significantly now that I can drop weight. Even got some heavy Clean Pulls in too. I am one excited lil dude right now.

For sure! I'll record one during the next PC session. Psychologically I felt like I was acting obnoxious because of all of the noise from dropping weight after I Cleaned it. It took me about 15 minutes to settle into it and realize that it was "okay".

I know I'm going to go through this exact same thought process when I start dropping bumper plates. I mean you get groomed in the standard gym to be quiet like a mouse and never let the weight even bounce...

that being said I had my headphones in yesterday and pretty sure I was grunting like an idiot squatting.... but it was natural from exertion wasn't trying to be a dick or show off etc...

Reason #439578264781 I love having a home gym. I'm usually pretty subdued when lifting, but there are sometime where I'm really feeling it where being able to slam down the weights and let out a really strange almost animal like sound is pretty liberating...

My Ride: 328i-GONE ;(
This morning 2 mile treadmill warm up then 3 miles in the field behind my house. 6 half mile laps. Ran hard first half mile then pick up this log and run the next half mile. 30 sec breather and do it again. It killed.

Definitely helps you push more weight + feel better about it. I'll be living that condo life for awhile still, but once I get a house (more importantly,a garage) first investment is a home gym. No more fighting with trainers & their clients using squat racks/bar for reverse pullups. I seriously had to wait 10-15 minutes three times over past week for this kind of garbage. There are TRX bands for that.

I also made a few enemies in the "trainers circle" last week for telling a trainer "I'd like to squat in the squat rack now, not watch your client do bicep curls. As a trainer you should know better". Whoops, should have kept my mouth shut.

I WISH I had a home gym like yours. Out of curiosity, how often do you have to replace bumper weights? I noticed that the rubber on many of the 45 lb. plates were splitting enough to see the metal plate inside.

It did feel really weight at first for me too.

Those are most likely crappy weights. I slam most of mine down 2x a week for almost a year and if I cleaned them they'd look new. I have rogue btw.

Rogue makes a good product. These weren't Rogue plates. They were "Stronger, Better, Faster" or something like that.
