What performance brake pads to get?

I need to replace my OEM brakes on my 04 330ci, can anyone recommend performance (track + street use) brake pads (ex. hawk) I also assume any non OEM pads will not have as much brake dust as the OEM?

I was very happy with Stoptech street pads all around. Dust wasnt bad and bite was great. I recently switched to F30 front calipers with stock pads and they feel the same as my previous stock setup with stoptech pads, thats how good they are.

Ferodo DS2500s aren't bad for street/track use. I still use the Ferodos in the rear, although I now use Hawk DTC-60s in the front for the track.

performance friction "Z" rated pads. you don't say your track experience level, but based on the question i am assuming you are still in the "novice" world. the PFZ pads are great for street and track use up to intermediate group level.

once you get beyond intermediate, PF08 pads are the way to go.

Texstar for the street and Hawk for the track. Learn to change them.

This.

There's no good compromise.

I used stoptech's performance pad and I had to re-bed them every 5k miles or the rotor would feel warped. I wont bother with that anymore.

Get a street pad that is low dust and low noise.

And then get a track pad that actually performs (Hawk Street/Race aka DTC60 or PF08s)

And swap them between street and track events.

Really, it only takes 20 minutes to swap all 4 corners.
