While I don't have the AC system discharged yet is it safe to remove pulley belt from compressor so it doesn't have to spin?

Also what's the thought on the under drive pulley systems? Beneficial to save engine resources or waste of money?

Yes, you can remove the belt. When I bought my car the belt and tensioner were removed for some reason. When I test fired the engine after re-assembly I ran it without the belts as I did not have anything hooked up yet.

I don't think under drive pulleys are necessary. Money is better spent elsewhere.

Belt gone for now, thanks.

When I do the water pump next week and drain the radiator, I'll work on pulling the compressor and condenser out.

I donít have a proper scale here so I can only guess.
Seems at least 25-30lbs. Plus all off the front right wheel basically.

Under drive pulleys are not allowed. They must be the same diameter.

10.2: Pulleys may be replaced with metal versions of the same diameter.
