Difference between 330 and 325 xi
So how do you tell the difference between a 330Xi and 325Xi if the car has no rear badge? What do I look for in the engine bay that will point me one way or another? I know the 330Xi has a bigger Disa valve but I really can't compare when taking a quick glance. Thanks in advance.

Hey OP,
The engines come with a plaque on it with 2 rows of numbers. the bottom row will have a 2 digit number to the left. If the number is 25, it's a 325xi, if it says 30, it's a 330xi. That'll let you know for sure about the engine. The only issue is that it's a little tucked away. I've never seen mine (I JUST learned about the plaque today) so i can't give you any personal tips on the best angle to see it at, i've heard jacking up the car in the front will give you enough room to see it from below, but i'm not so sure about viability from above See https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=836561

The easiest thing to do is look at the intake boots. They are noticeably bigger on a 330

Good to know. Thanks. Was going to look at a 330xi car that had no rear badge. Seller flaked out.. Just might have to get another Subaru. Been frustrating trying to find the right deal on a Xi, sedan or wagon.
