ip address verification

in my control panel i have enabled this option IP Verification : For added security, you can enable email verification of new IP addresses with this toggle.

now the site intermittently fails to load and sends me email to report that my ip address is changed. it gives lots of different ip addresses except the correct one reported by whatismyip.

is there some third party scripting going on here? or maybe some traffic redirect happening without my knowledge? please could an admin PM or email me to help check some access logs?

Hello there,

The IP verification is meant to verify your IP every time you log in.
I am assuming that you're on a dynamic IP, which means your IP will change depending on your service provider.
I have turned that off for you now.
Let me know if you're still having issues.

hi ed thanks - my ip is dynamic but not so dynamic that i would have ten different ip addresss in an hour.

i checked and some are google, bing, etc. maybe a spoof attack of some kind.

please could you email me an access log with ip addresses and date/timestamps?

Huh. There isn't much there. According to the system, only one IP address was used to access your account on the day in question. I'll send it to you by PM

Can you PM some of the IP's it was listing as "unapproved" when you were having the troubles?

thanks. i sent you a list from notification emails sent on july 4. there must be a bug in that feature. i checked and some of the ip addresses were google or bing.
