New driveshaft is short?!?!

What's going on here?

The drive shaft is pulling pretty good on the CSB, and there's still about an inch or more before it will mate to the rear differential.

Do I need to loosen the "clamping sleeve"? How so?

The driveshaft is the correct part number etc reman from Beyer Driveline - bought thru Bav Auto before they closed up.

What do I do? Thanks!

Try loosening the "nut" by the CSB and see how far you can pull it apart. On my e36 there's a fair amount of splined shaft. They may have pushed it together at the factory.
