It's weird, beige (er, "Bronzit") gets such a bad rap in other cars but because it's relatively rare in the E46T world I think clean examples look *so* nice.

Probably just a novelty/souvenir plate. I don't think TX has a front plate requirement, meaning drivers can put whatever they want up there.

Yeah that is what I though at first, but it looks like the rear has a euro plate too. Maybe they are stuck on there to cover the real plates underneath for the sake of the ad?

I totally feel you on the Beige thing though. I don't know if it's because it's a rare color for E46 tourings or what, but that color just speaks to me in a strange way.

Like it's so far past uncool that it makes it rebelliously cool again. I can't decide if it would look good with the ZHP treatment w/ MtechII bumpers and some 135 wheels, or if it should remain in its base spec glory.

It's actually the exact same color combo as my touring

We are required to run front plates in Texas but many people choose not to run them. For the longest time there wasn't even a fine but that has changed recently.

As far as the plate, I've seen a lot of exotic cars run similar plates here. Basically you get the euro style novelty plate except with your actual Texas numbers on it. I personally wouldn't do it as it seems like a great way to get hassled for no reason.

I have a M3 bumper on mine painted to match, I think it looks pretty good in the right light. It's probably the only one in the world in this color

That looks awesome. I think pre-facelift cars w/ the M3 bumper is such a great combo.

The MtechII bumper looks really good here too. I'm not typically a big fan of dark wheels but your car pulls it off well.

Screw laguna seca blue, you guys should start a thread for beige.

I've always been kinda drawn to the gold/beige cars, as well. They lend themselves to all the shadowline trim and smoked lights coupled with dark wheels. And it is a fairly uncommon color.

Totally off topic, but...maybe you (and others) will like this. I think the color is called kashmirbeige metallic or something like that. (For the record, I also now own a '00 323iTA that I'll be swapping over to a 330iT/5.) This is during a fuel stop at Lucky Dog Buttonwillow last month.

I may have shared in a previous post, but in the E30 world, all Bronzit cars are cursed.

To me it's Titan Silber in e46s. I had two, they were both wrecked into by other people. I was not buying another one.

Oh, and there's a ratty e30 project in that color on my local CL right now for $2500.

Bronzit was thé "Yuppie" color. Not too shabby. I used it on my o2 instead of original Polaris.

I split this off because a) I'm bored out of my mind b) it can now live in infamy c) technically it's against the rules of the FS thread anyway, not that I really care right now...

Even though it's auto and non sport, someone should buy that 52k mile one in the original ad and go ham with it.

I'd love to, but you'd have to really be a fan of old man tan to spend any real money on that project. Even with a simple 6MT and black interior swap, getting it up to snuff to be a reliable driver you'd be in it $10k and thats with is still being the small engine.

We always referred to it as "granny gold." My sister had a 1997 Jetta all decked out in beige boringness. Also I have a buddy who is a high school english teacher who drives an Audi A4 Cabriolet that's triple action. And, yes, he wears sport coats with elbow patches!
