I'm not 100% as i have't hunted deer. Penetrating power should be plenty but i would think you'd have to get within pretty close range otherwise you'd have to lob that round at the deer. We get pretty close in with the hogs, usually not more than 50yds and inside a wooded area. Windage isn't an issue, but lobbing one 150yds across a meadow with a cross wind... i would image you'd have to be really good or plan on doing some tracking.

This is all from my very hypothetical guesswork.

I just know that being a heavy, slow round, the ballistic drop is going to be significant.

Pretty sure i posted this before, but this is the round i found in the last pig i shot.
