I did all i could, even moved the chain up and down one link. and the left sprocket only moved to the left so far, before the bolts prevented it from going further. but even so it wasnt giving me any compression. I gave up but luckly my dad has an xi and im about to put the new engine in in a day or two. Might still mess with it now that its out, when i have time.

did you check if the cam gear slip ? there is a thread on that, where the guy at the end used a straight bar and realign and torque the gear at the end of the cam.
