If you have a hard wired Aux solution, you pretty much have to run a PAC or similar ground loop isolator to eliminate noise.

If you are streaming via A2DP over Bluetooth you can usually get away without a ground loop isolator.

Using the PAC ground loop isolator:

And this dash mountable interface cable is a good way to go with all plug and play:

The USA-Spec PA-12 is also an option at about $120 on Amazon. Used ones are readily available too. Been using it with an old iphone (3gs) for a number of years. It's okay. Sound quality wise, it's not CD quality so you have to turn up the volume more to hear the music. It's clearly not for critical listening, more for convenience.

If the Dension or other interface provides better sound quality, I'd upgrade to that.

Voila, anyone can play music now while the setup is clean and no one will ever know.
Which one exactly? Mediabridge? Silverline DUO?

Doesn't matter. As long as you have one of those, you will get a long cable that is routed from the trunk of the car all the way up to the front. I bought the basic $100 Dice kit and hooked it up in no time

I just realized that I purchased a similar thing from Bavsound. Here is a link to the one I purchased. It is the $160 one, up from $120 from when I bought mine in February 2013 and it now looks like they have cables for lightning connectors, but that will be $200.

Get the $160 one and then buy this bluetooth receiver:

That way, if you switch phones or if anyone who doesn't have a 30-pin Apple device (let's face it, who still does at this point?) wants to play music, they can. I have been using this device for over 2 years now and it's excellent

Just get the quidzel kit. No wires to run from the trunk to the head unit and it works for pre 2003 models. Did I menton $50? Not $100. It runs on your factory wires set up for your CD changer so the wiring work is done there for you. No static, pops, or whines. Just clear music.
