Opinions on 9" Cheap Android Head Units for CARPLAY?

Checking to see if anyone has experience with any of the cheapo 9" full touch screen Chinese head units, solely for CarPlay. I'm looking at a 2gb RAM A35 one on Amazon by AmazeAudio, for $220, with the mentality that I'll buy a CarPlay adapter and really only use that, and the FM radio occasionally, rather than paying the premium for Xtrons or Eonon more known name.

Does the Carplay adapter run fine on these lower spec Android 9.0 units? I've been trying to find reviews, but can't seem to on these ones without any real physical buttons.

I have the eonon 9" with a carplay adapter and it works well. The xtrons has better specs but is a little pricier it seems

Cool, yeah the one I'm looking at is the same specs as the Eonon I believe. 2GB RAM / 16GB rom. PX35. Lower specs than the Xtrons, but I assume that if you're running CarPlay, the bulk of the processing is done on the phone anyway so specs shouldn't matter that much, right?

Is CarPlay smooth for you?

Yeah it worked well, definitely smoother than using the headunit itself. I use Android auto now and it's of course just as smooth as carplay
