So in my searching around to try and find a replacement LHS sliding trim cover for my 2001 330Ci (the right one is there, the spring attachment point just needs to be repaired) and boggling at how expensive it was likely to be to get a piece of plastic about the size of a credit card, I got to thinking- has anyone ever used a 3D scanner on one and then 3D printed new ones? I would imagine since it's not a high-strength part (the only thing that kind of is would be the spring mount, and that could be improved) that it would work fairly well.
You might not even need to have both sides to do it- I'd guess they're mirror images of each other, so you could just mirror the part in the software and print out whichever side you wanted.
