Some power steering notes - AN hoses, etc

I redid all my hoses with AN hoses last year and have had some noise issues after. During the winter it wasn't bad, but now that it's warm again it sounds like someone is blending ice in there. Multiply that by an hour of driving and you'll have a very annoyed me.

This week I decided to replace the high pressure hose on mine with one from a 99 M3. Inlike the xi hose, that hose is only $50, along with it I re-installed a new check valve banjo bolt. My noise is now gone. Thank god.
(Note, I have a 99M3 power steering pump mounted to my M3 oil filter housing.)

The hose was a minor pain to install, I had to bend the ends a little bit to get it to fit correctly, but in the end it worked out. (I did curse at my car for an hour and a half while I tried to get the banjo bolts in and kept dropping the second crush washer multiple times.)

Sooo, if you want to run AN hoses all around, you should use a banjo bolt setup at the rack in order to keep that check valve. It's possible that the restriction valve in the M3 hose helped but I think the real problem was the lack of check valve.

As for the rest, I use the Chase bays reservoir, custom made AN10 hose from that to the pump, pump to rack is now a M3 hose, Rack to the cooler is made of pre-made AN 6 hoses, cooler is a plate style with AN fittings, cooler to the reservoir is also AN6. The reservoir is mounted to a bracket I made that puts it above the alternator.
