Steering column

Hi all

Iím going to fit a set of eBay headers to a RHD car, I believe the headers are very close/ touch the steering column collapsible joint. Now the LHD cars use a different system with a much climber shaft that I believe wonít hit the headers.

BMW use a composite material as a breakable pin that allows one piece to slide up another piece in the event of a crash. Is this not used in UK cars due to heat from the headers or just different rules/laws ?

Any help with this is appreciated
