That's Disa Valve remove it and you won't have 4k drop again

What gearbox is everyone running? Stock? Has anyone changed to a "stronger" gearbox or diff?

I am looking at keeping my stock 5 speed S5-250G if it will take the power from my new engine otherwise upgrade to something stronger.

The 330i 5-speed (320Z) is the gearbox you want. It is damn near indestructible. The 6-speed is very strong as well, but clutch and flywheel options are more limited, and it's heavier.

The diff is not strong. The ring and pinion are pretty strong if you set the backlash on the tight side, but the carrier flexes and the center section of any LSD is too small because of the small carrier. A bulletproof upgrade is to swap in the rear subframe, diff, hubs, etc from the E46 M3.
