My return was lower, but I got six times the amount I paid more thru the year.

Wanted to make sure you are aware of a few things:

1. You know a refund means you paid too much and the government kept your money, interest free?

2. If you paid less in taxes, your refund would likely be lower

3. Refund isn't free money from the government

my tax bill dropped by an insane amount. i did not feel that i need a tax break. i feel others are in far greater need, but many people vote against their own best interest.

further, when your extra $5/month tax credits expire in 4-5 years, mine will not. I don't consider myself "rich", but certainly my income has grown dramatically -- further widening the wage gaps.

He's a poor business man idk why someone voted for him. If he was truly that good we would all be using his products.

I'm already paying on a lot on goods that are imported. Its gonna get even higher. All my equipment that I use is either EU or Asian countries. Traveling abroad will cost more too because on the back end, companies that rely on the US market will take a hit.

This is gonna have a trickling effect just like the last time when the Banks got jacked up by Congress.

thanks to the changes for 2018, we lost out on over $10k in deductions that we previously had in 2017
(state income tax + home mortgage tax write off cap)

Good. I'd be irritated too but the federal government shouldn't be subsidizing the outrageously high cost/affordability of states like NY or CA or anywhere else for that matter. Don't like it, petition your state and local lawmakers to decrease their tax rates, lower their tax assessments of properties, or be more efficient with the tax dollars they take in so they aren't taxing the living hell out of their taxpayers. Or find a loophole to convert those taxes from personal to business so you can write off the taxes. Or move to a lower tax state. Go look at the personal incomes for some of the public servants in these states...insane. My opinion of course.

1) Tax churches.
2) Eliminate overseas bank accounts tax loophole garbage for multi-billion-dollar companies.
3) Tax multi-millionaires even more heavily and eliminate the overseas bank account loophole thing for them as well.
4) Reduce taxes for middle class and below.
5) Upper-middle class should pay some pretty decent taxes because they can damn well afford it.

That and the fact that they could not possibly generate the income they enjoy without the infrastructure and workforce that the community provides.

Upper middle class and above already pay most (if not all) of the Federal Income Tax collected.

You're welcome.

No to Church tax.

Tax = say in how it's spent and they have enough influence in politics as it is.

Huge can of worms.

Touché.

Perhaps make the law state religious organizations must pay taxes, but are not allowed to make contributions to political campaigns and have no say in how the money is spent. Churches have screwed people over for centuries. It's time we return the favor.

Also, the downside of increasing taxes on these major corporations: They will increase prices to compensate for the extra tax. I mean... they absolutely NEED to profit $3 billion rather than $2.2 billion.
