TSLA getting slammed today hard. -9% on that

RSX is just killing it with oil going up lately. +20% on that one.

I picked up tesla at $191. I still believe in the company, and fully expect a $300 pricetag within 2 years. Apple is still doing well for me (bought at 150 before the split) but I don't know if they will continue...will hang on for now. Made a killing on BPAX (bought my ANIP) which is a rare thing for me...I've gotten burned by pharma a few times (still haven't broken even on pfizer after 10 years ) Im usually a fan of mining (nickel and iron), carbon fiber, some tech and some food. Wish I got in on Chipotle.

I wish I could trade my own money more actively....unfortunately, I have to pass every transaction through compliance at work which could take 2-5 days, at which point any tactical gain opportunity has probably passed. That's if they approve it, too, lol.

I generally only do long term stuff, so for me a few bucks here and there don't matter. Im not skilled enough to trade actively.

Long term results are driven from proper allocation, but that doesn't mean a few tactical buys/sells here and there aren't enjoyable and useful.

Day traders/active traders are rarely successfull in the long run.

I have been buying/selling stocks for 10 years now.

Im no expert, but my biggest mistakes have been not holding. Everything that I have bought I should of just forgot about it. When you start buying with the intent of catching a 2-3% swing in a week is when you get killed.

Just buy value and hold on for the long haul.

Just throw whatever extra money you have at the end of the month in a "all stocks" fund and forget about it. in 20-30 years you will have millions.

I always say to myself...."what if the stock keeps going up when I sell and I cant get back in for less than I bought in the first place..." Got Tesla in the low 190s. Wanted to sell at 220 but thought it may never go below 220 again so I didn't. Should have sold it and bought back at 190 again. I guess I overthink things or something.

While I don't have millions, I have done very well by doing exactly that. I buy good stocks and leave em...has worked so far on most.

I sold at 220ish Im sure it will plop back down after the excitement wears off. I'll buy back in at around $190ish and hold after that.

I think Tesla hit ~$280 at one point not too long ago. I had a deep discussion on the company with one of my colleagues at work who bought a good number of shares back when it was sub $100/share. It's been a roller coaster ride since then though.

I have disciplined myself to not get upset over money I didn't make. I made a quick return on my money, and am pretty confident it will dip again. If not, back to the pharmaceutical hellhole I go.
