rear spring and struts

so i could use some help on this. i have an '02 330cic with 18" wheels from a 335. when i bought the car it became apparent that PO put in lower rear springs. i've got 4 3/8 clearance in the front and only 2 7/8 in the rear. it's starting to bounce and rub new tires and just feels sloppy. i put biltstein touring shocks all the way around about 50k mi ago. i've decided to go back to "stock" rear suspension. i think i'm sold on sachs rear struts but would like to save some money on the springs. anyone have any recommendations on aftermarket springs that are like stock, but more economical? or, really any advice is appreciated...

I recently replaced my rear springs due to a broken spring, and just used Bilsteins. I believe they were "heavy duty" but I may be mistaken. They are stock height and I don't remember them being expensive enough to remember how much they cost. Car is great.

The Bilstein Tourings are for stock spring height, so using them with lowering springs may well have worn them out.

If you want to go back to stock height, I would buy some used stock springs and new Bilstein Tourings. They’re cheaper than the Sachs.

Can’t the Bilsteins be rebuilt?

I suppose.

But the B4 Touring shocks are only $126 per pair.

i didn't think about used springs. if i can source them at the bone yard do you know offhand if there's any difference for a convertible. i just know it's the sport suspension.

my shocks aren't leaking but could they be thrashed anyway because of pairing them with lower springs? my bump stops are thrashed so maybe just replace shocks, bumps and mounts?

the back end feels very unplanted. maybe a broken spring? thinking to put new spring pads too, since i'm in there. i haven't looked at trailing arm bushings yet.

Definitely used springs unless there is corrosion. Match the stripes painted on the spring.

you lost me on the stripes. since i don't have stock springs i can't compare. looks like i'll need convertible springs for the right ride height. or these: BMW Heavy Duty Coil Spring Rear - Suplex 06164 ($70). anyone know about Suplex?

this looks like what i need for $178:
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...rear-556882kt2

i'll chk the springs and if they're broken or non-stock get used ones off a convertible here. if they are oem and good i think at least new spring pads and maybe even the thicker spring pads. just seems like something's off with my ride height even with the bigger wheels. i just needed a second set of eyes on this and some consult...

If you need springs look at the Bilstein ones. Great price and 2 year warranty.
Actually after looking at FCP Euro I would get them there just for the lifetime warranty. They really don't last long on these cars. My XI is on at least its 3rd set and needs them again. My X3's need replace again and they are only 3 or 4 years old and I bought them at the dealer because it has the sports package. So sad!

I have a 330 vert and I also got a 15mm spring pad for the right spring to address irritating tilt of the chassis
