check engine light ??

2002 BMW 330xi
engine light came on but there's no codes.
what does this mean or could be ? this normal with the 330xi ?

Try posting engine issues in the general forum. More experts over there. What scanner are you using? OBD Fusion is a good app for your mobile devise, reads codes and logs data that can be shared.

Try reading the codes again. I've used a Peake reader on our xi which has worked out well. The only dash lights we've ever had was the low oil light issue(oil level was fine). Replaced the level sensor and it was gone.
