REIT investing?

Ok so im new to this all. im young, have a very high risk tolerance (lost money is just less mod money) and want to invest. i know i already have a couple threads. What should I do? I keep getting turned around. Im now thinking about REITs. My dad is a very sucessful realistate syndicator and i wanted to invest with him but i cant come up with enough money. I think i would need at least 25k.

Real estate is pretty volatile nowadays and doesn't seem to have much upside. Not the best place to put your money right now imho.

Because I don't think that the rich guy stole from the poor guy. In fact rich people don't get rich by stealing from poor people because it turns out poor people don't have money.

Figured since the thread was short, I'd bump it rather than create a new one.
