key hole delete question

So, I just purchased the key hole delete/cover from bimmian. The description says that it will cover the locking mechanism, compared to others that need you to remove the lock. My question is... If you mess with the locking mechanism(remove it, cover it,etc) will it still perforn all the same functions?

Yes, central locking will still work from your remote and the trunk lock will, too.

This will only cover the keyhole! You can even delete the lock cilinder, and cantral locking will still work (Not safe though to delete the cilinder, anyone with a screwdriver, can get in your car)...

I personally had a issue when i removed my lock cylinder...the computer in the car turned off the feature for my windows to go down when i used the remote and also the auto lock feature when you start driving got turned off as well....i had to go to the dealer and get it reprogrammed.

what did it cost to have it reprogrammed? Does anyone know of a way to put on the key hole delete cover, without having any problems?

I deleted it several times, when I was making illuminated handles... never had an issue with it!

No steps needed, just open the door, unscrew the lock cilinder and done!

No. You've already said you're not removing the lock.

you HAVE TO remove the lock, since the lock cover, snaps on the cilinder. So in order to replace the cover, unscrew the lock cilinder, pull it out, snap of the old cover, snap on the new cover, shove in the cilinder, tighten the screw, step back and watch the improvement!

Seems pretty pointless. I would still leave it connected

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH! what's all the fuss about replacing a stupid cover??? It will make no difference, even with the cilinder being taken out, it's still a 1minute job!!

Sorry for the yelling, but I just don't understand this has to be a 20 post thread (eventhough half of them are mine)...

Believe me, just pull it out!

Hope you'll like the look...
