02 325ci Driver window memory loss of 1/4 drop.

When i open my driver door,it wont drop the 1/4. keeps losing memory randomly.Passenger window works fine. I also noticed that when i open the door the, dome lights dont come on.But they will come on when i open the passenger side. Could it be a bad window motor. I even programmed it with NCS Expert, worked for a bit now nothing. I also tried the 5 second hold down the window switch.

That sounds like a problem with the door open switch. I think that switch is part of the latch mechanism. But am not sure.

You have to remove door panel, take out glass first, then window regulator and finally the door lock switch.

What a pain. Have taken out glass before to fit door handle assembly. Glad this problem for me is only once in a while.
