^ correct

2002 M3 - no navigation but i do have 16:9 TV.

is there a way around this without nav? I *think* that at least one of those 2 cables is the antenna, possibly both.

The blue harness doesn't quite have the same options to wire into as the white one

Use another plug just to get the wires onto the pins. The aerial is actually the 2 coax looking plugs.

Use anything like that you can find. It's a pita as you'll likely need to pull the unit out to plug into the correct pins. It's really the easiest option besides having a wrecker or the like cutting out the plug and loom for you.

Couple guys have this problem of the missing white plug. It's a bit of a nuisance, but shouldn't be a show stopper.

You can still insert pin 17 into the blue plug, that just leaves two more wires.
The pins out of the white plug should be visible, it's just a matter of accessing two of them.

It might be worth a look through Jaycar or Altronics to see if they have something that'll fit into it.

Here's an image of the BMW style housing, except the TV plug is 2 x 10pins.

Maybe even a dupont connector (e.g. old CD ROM audio wire) could do the trick. You only need to access pin 13 and 14.

You have a "rare" M3 btw. No hifi audio and nav. Is it an import?

Ahh ok. I had thought the audio comes from the white plug to the amp. Maybe the white plug is all nav.

looks that way, nav and reverse camera.

got it working - well video anyway. still no audio apart from some interference somewhere and it seems to freeze or stop getting inputs. It will work for a bit - accepting commands from the head unit - and then stop, usually when you try to open a folder. It's either freezing or just stops understanding whats coming down the line for a minute. Comes good for a bit and then it'll drop out again. Took it back out and tested, the audio from the Pi's line out is ok. I think i've either done a bodgy solder or two on the 6 pin connector to the cd changer, or i've stuffed something else up somewhere. tomorrows problem.

just to confirm, you definitely dont need any of these other files in the pibus-20140124.zip file?

They're just the source code that when compiled produces that one file you're using now.

Try it with a keyboard in the USB port. If it still freezes up, then it's some kind of Pi problem, maybe a dodgy SD card.

Adelaide has only 3-4 roads, you don't need Nav

you've got to ask why you'd select the option and pay for an analogue TV receiver and NOT a GPS. In 2005 no less. When did they start advertising the turnoff of analogue TV, 1985?...
