I think just:
Code:
cd /storage/.kodi/addons
unzip /storage/skin.mimic_pi.zip
reboot
should do the trick.

The new v4 looks really great!

How do you input av from an ipad or iphone via this to bmw infotainment? The new ones with lightning connector only offer HDMI out. Has anybody got airplay working via xmbc and a wifi dongle? Or is audio via bluetooth without video the only way? Would some HDMI to composite adapter work so I could get both audio and video on screen?

Pete - Just been on your site and noticed an update for pibus.
What does this update give us/offer over previous versions?
Any chance of releasing an Update log on your site?

Had the chance today to install my new Raspberry Pi 2 and V4 board today, only had it for a month or two. Wow what a difference.

Do you mean difference in the sound? Yeah, that DAC is amazing. I've got a Denon brand hifi at home, but now my car sounds better than that.

Change Log at: http://pibus.info/sw/changelog.txt

Yeah the audio quality is awesome, puts my mates Arcam hifi to shame, and the new Quad core Pi's speed is quite impressive as well.

What with the superb audio quality and the Pi's speed it's a bit of a shame that the screen resolution is so low. I know it's been done before, but I think I need to look into that. I feel a plan brewing...

Hi Pete,

Awesome bit of kit you've created with the PiBUS. I've an e46 with the CD53 (single DIN CD player). Initially I'm just going to look at emulating a CD changer (with Airplay, DLNA etc).

This obviously won't take advantage of the PiBUS's video element (just its PSU, Audio and iBUS interface) but the TV, screen and all that will have to come later.

I'll likely get my hands dirty with some python/bash to get this working from scratch (and learn some more about the iBUS in the process).

Can you see any issues with me starting out this way (other than the scripting) and is there any info on how the I can start interacting with the iBus once it is all hooked up?

Tristan.

Well, considering you have ignored most of the "Requirements" section of the pibus web page (i.e. to have a screen and TV module), it might give you some issues.

If you're a keen programmer and have spare time, I guess there's nothing you can't ultimately solve.

Hi Pete, Thanks for coming back and my apologies if I've offended you with my plans, I don't really have the need for a video based system at present nor the money to attain one.

I also appreciate I'm ignoring most of the "requirements" but felt your product will bring me the following capabilities outside of its intended implementation:
- Access to the iBUS from the pi
- Nice clean audio output which will hook into the CD changer input
- An intelligent power supply for the PI

I can then work on the scripting to interface with the radio.

My other option was to cobble something together using Rolf Resler's USB/serial interface to the iBUS but I'd end up purchasing another hifiberry board and fabricating a PSU which wouldn't be as intelligent as yours.

Tristan.

Nah it's fine, just don't expect to work "out of the box" - but I guess you knew that. I don't really know about the CD53 either, but I guess you'll find out how it'll act.

Just received my pibus4, everything working as it should nice and simple to setup and the sound quality is amazing.

Can anyone confirm that when the ignition is off the red light should be solid on the pi and the light should blink on the pibus?

It should blink for 5 minutes and then power down - you can watch that if you leave the boot open and then lock the car. It's good to check that, to avoid battery drain.

So you notice the sound quality difference over CD with the stock speakers etc?

I only had it plugged in for about 10 mins, as I am waiting for a case to come but I think you defiantly can notice a difference the sound from audio and a video both sounded crisper.
