XI FCABs

whats up guys, ive done some some research and thought i had narrowed down my choice on FCABs but then stumbled upon Kubica's statement saying that PFF5-301B (power flex e36 facbs) work better than PFF5-4601XI (power flex e46xi fcabs) because they don't make any noise unlike the e46 xi specific fcabs which apparently are very noisy im looking to do this job soon and would like to hear anything that you guys may have to say on the matter

thanx in advanced

Either should work fine. I prefer the centered e36 m3 bushings.

So it has to be specifically for the e36 m3 not just non m e36?

Also if I go with the e36 fcabs would they fit my oem lollipops? Or if I do buy the e36 fcabs I have to buy them pre pressed?

The new PF xi specific Fcabs have been working out great on both my 325xi and my 325xit with standard suspension set ups . No squeeks, no problems, no sanding of lollipop required, no hose clamps needed for spacers, no drama and no evidence of unusual wear now with 20k to 30 k on each.

I went with the E46 XI powerflex FCABs in my recent suspension overhaul. I have only had them for a couple of thousand miles but no squeaking so far (applied the supplied lube as directed).

The only benefit I can see to the E36 bushings is that the centered fit really leaves no possibility of imperfect alignment of the offset (since there is none). I am sure this very slightly affects the suspension behavior by angling the control arm slightly differently, but who knows how much that really makes a difference, especially when pretty much every aftermarket suspension setup is affecting the geometry much more.

You don't need anything more than a good C clamp to press the bushings into the lollipops. You will need more than to get the old SOB bushings out though.

Re: XI FCABs

I wouldnt buy from e36 above. I waited over a month for these and never received them. His inbox was full the whole time and never communicated with me after he said he supposedly shipped it. Buyer beware

I gave you a refund no questions asked buddy.
I have a life outside of this forum. Its called work. Work got busy.
I shipped it when you sent the money. They got shipped back to my shipping dept w/o letting me know. Not my fault.

If you still want them we can give this another shot

limpia, in case it helps, I have started offering this pre-pressing service for FCABs. Should have another set in a couple of weeks ready to go...

Quick input...I have the powerflex fcabs, and have never heard any noise from them. For reference, the centered bushings should keep the caster around stock, the offset bushings will increase caster (helping high speed stability & quicker steering back to center). Either way, you should be happy.
