Really only two wires in the TRRS are used (video & ground). The sound isn't used because you have a DAC on-board for better sound.

hi again.

i may have a new idea for the pi. now after a long time and still everything working, why not using the pi as anti theft system ?

my car has, navi (gps), phone (sms) and oem anti theft system.

is it possible to startup the pi, when car gets hijacked and the anti theft system was turned on.

maybe if this is possible, the pi can send a sms to my mobile phone, telling me that someone opened my car or maybe is driving it (gps from navi)?

It was a hama bluetooth dongle. From local electronic shop.

The problem with openelec is, it does not allow installing bluez utils.

Raspbian pi does...

The configuration is the tricky thing. Somewhen i made it and streaming from mobile phone is no problem.

At the moment it is a Huawei Mate S running on Android 5.1.1
Before it was a Samsung Note Edge on 4.4.0 and 5.0.1

my 5 cents // my working setup

Hi all

What I can do with my installation:
- listen music, watch video, see pictures and control it over steering wheel (what a surprize )
- see reverse cam when reverse gear is in
- all persons in the car can control / stream music by their phones
- while we hear music, my kids can watch films over their IPOD (film on Pi in the car), you can stream different films and different music on same time
- I updated/fixed/adapted the Kodi Skin to a BMW M3 Skin that ban be red in that 16:9 lcd. LOOK AT THE VIDEO... A must have

What I used
- RasPi2
- PiBUS 4 HiFi
- Metalic Raspi Case (Metallgehäuse für Hifiberry DAC+ // PI-MOD-DACCASE-BLACK)
- Openelec SW Version 6
- My Kodi app adaptation (as on my E46 M3 the 16:9 Screen has a low resolution I did rework Kodi)
- TP-Link TL-WR802N WLAN Nano Router
- Sinuslive EF-10 ( I had noise on the line )
- e46 back cam
- Yatse app (you can download it on your phone store)
- 64GB USB stick
- h2format (to format fat32 )

Steps to do:
1) follow the instructions here: http://pibus.info/buy4/ to install
2) use the filter Sinuslive EF-10 between positive power coming from CD-changer cable to remove noise on the music line
3) install the backview cam (you will need to cut off some parts of the cam that it fits, I can send pictures of it) and secure it with 2 screws. The cable can be completely hidden but you will need around 3h of work
4) connect your nano router to the Pi2 (Rj45 and USB power), set it to a bridged mode (I can send you my config if you want)
5) calibrate skin size of Kodi to your screen (setup menu)
6) install my updated Kodi Skin and activate it
7) install Yaste on your mobile and connect all your mobiles an Iphone you have to the nano router.
8) format your usb stick with h2format with fat32
9) copy your foto, film and music to the 64 GB USB stick, attach it to the Pi2 and integrate the files into your Kodi library

Here is how it looks like:
- working Kodi on my M3: video file
- installation in the trunk: pictures (I will make it more pretty later)
=> installed like this, you can change the USB stick (and also use a big one) and can change the SDcard (see the little plastic to take it out) easily
=> in addition the Pi2 gets better cooling in this position
- updated skin of Kodi : file => replace the 720p directory with this content
and update also the Texture in the media folder of the skin... texture.xbt
In case someone is interested in that much better skin I can also make a tar of it with all pictures with it.
(I did not check if I have the rights on the fotos, so check this first)

Many thanks to Peter for this great work on the HW! I can now keep my old M3 some years longer ! Engine and car is still great, but SW was getting too ugly compared to new cars, that is now fixed. Who else can control through an Kodi app the music that is played in a car? :-)

After I gave now my 5 cents .... a question from my side :-)

All works except 2 things.....
1) I did install the script, which is supposed to reduce the sound of the music if my car is in rear.
=> but it does not work for me and I guess, that my car has another code for the rear gear? I think that I will be able to find out the code (as soon I have a bit of time), but where in the PiBus code do I need to place this new code? I saw in the script that it looks for a specific sequence that is somewhere in the code generated once the rear-gear is in.

2) As I would like also change the buttons, I would appreciate, if anybody can point me to this section in the code (or do I just load a keymap?).

Thanks
lobo

1- it works. Are you using the -r flag when launching pibus in /storage/.config/autostart.sh (this will cause it not to work as i've worked out)

2- i'm pretty sure keymap is hard coded...what don't you like?

Hi frostbytes, thanks for the response...

1) no I do not use the -r but the -b key is set as I have a siemens phone in the car. The rear cam works but the sound is not changed.... X flag is set on the Script.
2) I do want to change 5/6 to the right side and add new shortkeys for my adapted skin

Same here. I've tested with and without the -r flag, and the sound is not changed.

Thx lobocobra for your sharing, i have to take a look at your skin !

it should be lower case x (not X) when settings the flag on the script.

also just check the file contents is exactly as follows
Code:
#!/bin/bash
case $1 in
	gear_reverse)
		kodi-send --action="SetVolume(60)"
		;;
	gear_other)
		kodi-send --action="SetVolume(98)"
		;;
esac
otherwise I'm not sure what it could be. sorry!

Thanks anyway, it was only my mobile that changed my x to a X

BTW.... if you want to stream music with your handy, look at my wifi solution... You will need a wifi nano router (30$) and then you can stream over a kodi remote (dnla wont work as kodi announces itself only all 15 min).

It seems that I will have to analyse the problem deeper and will come back once I found a solution. As the back-cam works, it must be a coding / script issue.

Do you want me to host a copy of your skin at: http://pibus.info/sw/skins/ ? (If you have a complete tar/zip).
Otherwise, things like this tend to get lost in internet land.

How much different is it to my mod of the pm3-hd skin?

Hi bigTom, could you share this please? It would be kinda useless to tell here others what you have and what they don't right?

Pls post the link to the code and some description what you changed. BTW I could integrate it into the improved Kodi Skin I made, so all can use it.

Hi Pete

You are welcome to host it in the skin section. The Skin should be an improvement for all E46 owners with 16:9 Monitor (terrible reso).

See a list of changes below:
  • font sizes reworked for all menu so they are readable in a E46 (2-3x bigger)
  • cover size and location adapted
  • buttons/menu relocated and resized to fit new font size
  • removed for a car useless features like search and the non-working keyboard (with my solution you search for genres through your phone)
  • removed views that are useless in a car (mainly search views)
  • animations adapted and changed to fit it better the car environment
  • exchanged XMBC logo with a M3 logo (xbt file repacked)
  • fixed some broked styles in the skin (bottom image was removed)
  • I increased the size of the buttons and removed the ones that were broken.
  • Partymodus fixed ( you need to download the party mode script available on Kodi to autostart Partymode )

Here is the the Tar File for Upload: TarFile
=> I changed the name so it can be installed as an alternative skin

Here is the preview:

Todo's:
- setting menu is unchanged as you enter it almost never
- implementation of bigTom's scripts (if he gonna share it), if not I gonna do that on my own

PS is it possible to get the Pibus code? I would like to change the buttons and to make work the sound reduction if the rear-gear is in. I saw that other might have it as they talk about "recompilation".

Hi

all stuff is inside zip file http://proin.ktu.lt/~zumbtoma/e83/current_config.zip

Skin, plugins, pibus source files (designed for E83 only).

Pibus software generates data.xml file. This file is read by service.IBUS and displayed in Kody by script.OBC.
