I am in Georgia. It's going to be a rural courthouse, not sure how that plays in or out of my favor when showing up.

In my state this offense gives me 3 points (failure to obey traffic device). No idea how or if my insurance will be affected. I should call my insurance provider (USAA) to determine before showing up to court.

LeMan, I've recently been advised by a lawyer that you can just walk into the courtroom, act out a bit, get the judge to yell at you, and then you can shoot him if you feel threatened. Good bye ticket! It doesn't matter what anyone thinks happened as long as you felt threatened.

An attorney or Ticket Clinic will cost close to but less than the cost of the ticket. Even if your insurance doesn’t go up with the first ticket, you will have used up your “freebie” and the next ticket will be costly.
Why the resistance?

Edit:
The last ticket I got, the cop advised me to use a clinic/lawyer.
I have over 40 years driving in the US, 4 tickets and zero convictions or points.
The clean record has also helped me avoid at least 4 other tickets when the cop ran my license and found a clean record.
