Swapping seat cushions to rotate wear?

I know this is possible on E30 and E36 seats. I searched, but keep coming up with threads of people swapping seats for different ones, or replacing leather with new covers.

Is it possible to pull the seats apart and swap the cushions from the driver's seat to the passenger seat and vice versa? I have power, heated sport seats with memory. I'd like to rotate my seat wear.

I don't think Nick's seat is anywhere near torn. Mine isn't. Both of my seats are near perfect. Driver's side slightly less so.

It's quite the task to remove the seat cushions...you might as well replace the seat occupancy sensor if you do that since it's bound to go out some day.
