I've checked the file with nano directly over SSH, and the file was correct. I've tried with and without the -r flag... and still nothing happens (except the black -because no camera connected yet- screen).

Maybe the reason is that I have a PiBus v3 and not v4 ? Pete should have the answer.
It'll work with a v3 board and -r, but only if you have pibus-20160206 or newer.

Thx for your answer Pete.

I think I have the 20160206 version installed, but is there a way to check ? if I open the Pibus file through SSH, can I see the version somewhere ?

The version date is in the log:
Code:
grep startup ibus.txt | tail

CruiseControl Btn

Pete, Is it possible to use the cruise control + and - as controls/buttons? I have installed the SNES, nes and sega emulator, and it would be nice if I could use these buttons? Since I only game emulator while standstill, there should be no conflict either way?

/Ben

No, the cruise control buttons are not on the IBUS, since they're critical vehicle control.

Hi, I downloaded the BMWskin2 to my rPi but untarring does not work with tar xfzv. Anybody knows how I can untar this correctly?

update: With tar xfzv the verbose shows the tar process is handling a bunch of files to a path /skin.M3/ but when finished all I see is a new folder named storage that is emtpy.

/.kodi/addons/storage

Any Pibus users who have upgraded their mainframe to rPi 3?

@Lobocobra: I am also using the tp link nano router as in your installation. Thanks for your setup list

Can you explain how you stream music from your handy? I noticed openelec/kodi can handle AirPlay only with older ios. I can stream with airplay from my old iPad 1 but not with our iPhone 4s, 5s or 6s.

Rasberry Pi 3

Hello!

Does anyone know if th Assembled PiBUS 4 HiFi board (http://pibus.info/buy4/) can be used with the new Raspberry Pi 3? I like the idea that it has integrated bluetooth which allows for music streaming from my phone.

Also, I would have to swap my central cd-changer unit in my armrest with the pibus. Does anyone have som tips about doing this considering my analogue-tv box sits in the left of the trunk? My setup is Professional Radio NAV (pop up screen), HIFI (do not think it's DSP), original bluetooth for phone connection (actually works with iphone 6), original analogue tv decoder, and 6 disc cd changer in the armrest._nr_

The Pi3 has changed its serial ports, so it's not compatible for now. Problems: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/v...38223&start=25

A Pi2 with USB bluetooth will be better.

Looks like that skin is packed with a whole path, including "storage", so do:

Code:
cd /
tar xfzv /storage/BMWskin2.tar.gz

Does any of you know how I could code the e83 to think there is a CDC installed? I had the iPod interface (removed it), no CDC but have the CDC cables. My car does not recognise the Pi as a CDC. If not possible, I will just use the AUX option

I'm no expert on the X3, but I had a feeling the headunit was a radio/cdc all-in-one. Hence the need to use AUX. Isn't that BigTom's solution?

Otherwise, you could try to remove "-m" flag from autostart.sh and see if it helps recognize CDC. Email me your ibus.txt file and I'll check it.

Command to edit that file:
Code:
nano /storage/.config/autostart.sh
Flags list: http://pibus.info/download.html#flags

Well, I got it working now. I don't know if I'm ready to recommend the Pi3, but so far so good. There's extra steps needed to make it work:

Code:
mount -o remount,rw /flash
cd /flash/overlays
wget http://pibus.info/sw/pi3-miniuart-bt-overlay.dtb
echo "dtoverlay=dtoverlay=pi3-miniuart-bt" >> /flash/config.txt
cd /storage
mount -o remount,ro /flash
sync
reboot

So normally the Pibus board simulates a CDC? Still figuring out how all the hardware works, apologies for the large amount of questions. Will send the ibus.txt tonight with both the -m and without.

Hey,
I manage to build this for my e38 with DSP. I used HiFiBerry Digi+ to work with DSP. But I have a problem. It shuts down aprx. every 5 min and only way to bring it back to life is to unplug power source. It makes no difference either is plugged in car or at home using TV. I tried different SD cards (16 GB, 4 GB). Did anyone encounter similar problem?

that is Pibus shutting down on the 300seconds idle timer when pibus does not detect any ibus messages

As explained in this email by Pete:

Hi,
Yes, there is a 5 minute timeout, if there's no IBUS activity. Type 'killall pibus' to stop that.
Regards,
Peter.
