So just like everyone else on here Huge Thanks to Scott "BaliDawg" for not only spending the time in his day but explaining and giving me information on all my other questions. As a new BMW owner its people like Scott that really show not everyone is looking for a dollar and the "tinkering" hobby isnt dead. And fyi yes the car felt a lot better after the update from the original fw. Thanks again, enjoy a couple beers on me.

You must be joking, right? E32 doesn’t even have the OBD port to plug in the cable!

I had an E32, 1993 750iL, for many years that had aftermarket memory chips in the DMEs and EML module. Loved driving that car! Passed it off a few months ago to a young guy who is going through everything to get her back into shape. Here’s his thread.

no joking. Do you know where I can get chip for ECM and TCM ? Do you know any body who can sale good valve body ZF4hp22 ? Mechanic said he need to change valve body there is one pressure solenoid worn out and when shifting the gears is not right making like slow with delay and can damage transmission parts.

My 2001 330ci. Auto Trans has only 15K miles. I just had it refurbished to put her back on the road after a 10 year “nap”. Would this reprogramming be a good idea? I would need to do this remotely as I’m in Austin.

Yes. I recommend all DME and EGS modules be updated to the latest. Go read post #1 for the reasons to update.

The section titled What Do I Need for a Remote Update? lists exactly what you need, including a link to the Pro K+DCAN Cable. After you have a Windows laptop and the cable, PM me your gmail address for a link to the files to download.

I've been reading through this thread and I was wondering if you're still willing to help people out. I've been chasing what I believe to be the 2800 rpm misfire for a while now and my local dealer refused to flash the car without doing more diagnostics. Since I've replaced all the usual suspects thus far I would really like to try updating the software. Thanks in advance for your help!

My Ride: 2004 325i automagic
Hi Bali,

I have a 2004 330i that has had the dme updated correctly, but the egs has been updated to an assembly number that is not in the gs20.his file copied above. The egs was originally 7 533 766 but was updated to 7 546 858 and not 7 557 992 which is what the latest update should be from what I can tell. Fwiw, this is a gm transmission and a g20.

Any idea what egs assembly # 7 546 858 is for or from? I am not finding any information about it.
