A weekend on the BMW

Hi.
I have just spent the weekend changing my valve stem seals, my upper timing chain guide and my timing chain tensioner.
Upon removing the cam cover the amount of carbonised oil was unbelievable. I thought something plastic had melted. My cam cover was filled and the recesses for the sprockets. Upon removing the valve stem seals these were also filled with carbonised and we're in a sorry state.
