Halogen to xenon convention

My 2001 330i has the factory halogen headlights and they are very oxidized and I do not like halogen lights in general. So I bought a pair of aftermarket headlights which are xenon lights. The new lights have 4 connectors while the factory lights have 2 + the corner lights. How do I make the new light work on my car? I’m sure this has been asked many times but any help would be appreciated

What exactly did you buy? The whole headlight assembly? Just the bulbs, ballasts, igniters and wiring? Projectors?

There is a lighting subforum that would help answer some questions:

Post some photos of the connectors on the new lights and the existing stock connectors.

I'd return the aftermarket ones you got because they most likely use halogen projectors which will suck. Just buy new lenses and do a projector retrofit

The easiest way to get xenon lights is to find a used set of OEM xenon headlights. Your best bet is to find a used set on eBay from a 1999-2001 E46. It doesn't matter if they came off a coupe or sedan because the housings are the same dimensions. All you'd need to do is to swap over the inner bezels and lens covers. Since you'd be doing this job and your current lens covers are oxidized, get a new pair of lens covers from FCP, ECS, or any of the other vendors.

With 4 connectors they most likely are aftermarket lights and bad ones at that. Return them and do the projector retrofit that is in my sig below. Another option is buying used OEM projector headlights.
