Slow site tonight 14/042019

Hi to you all out there - I am experiencing a rather sleepy site this evening here in the UK.

Is there a server issue ?

The problem appears to be the posting of new and or additional content.

Are you only noticing this when you try to submit a post/thread?
Are there specific sections that are causing slowness?

Ed

Hi Ed. The issue appeared to be both when submitting a post and if an edit had been performed.

Regards,

John.

What browser and device are you using?
I'm not able to replicate this at the moment.
I'm testing this using Chrome/MacOS

Hi Ed. I am using a Hard Wired PC on Windows 7 with Google Chrome as my default browser.
The issue that I have experienced appears to be intermittent.

The submission of the original part of this post was quite quick at 5 seconds.

Thanks, have you tried testing with a different browser to rule out a cookie issue? Testing it on my end using Chrome as well and it seems fine, but as you said it's intermittent so I'll continue to test and see if I can replicate.

Niall

Hi Niall. No,I have not tried the site with any alternative browsers.
IE is utter rubbish and both Opera & Firefox are intermittently troublesome with continual freeze-ups and lack of response being reported.

I have my Google Chrome set to delete all history and cookies upon shut-down.

Allowing cookies is really unavoidable as many sites will not function without agreeing to have them - BLACKMAIL come to mind.
