Question Coolant leak from timing case gasket

Hello!
I have some issues finding the reason for a leak.
My BMW E46 316 M43B19 has a coolant leak from the timing case gasket. I know there is not supposed to be coolant in there but i already tossed away the head gasket as possible reason for the leak. I steam cleaned the engine and the coolant doesn't seams to come from the thermostat housing. My question is what possibly can cause that leak at this unusual place.

This is a picture of the leak after the steam clean. It's a bit blurry, because it's taken through a mirror.

It's a picture of a timing case (not mine) to show where the leakage is:

Thank you for your help, and sorry for my english!
