Best Sounding Muffler

I'm wondering what the best sounding muffler is for a 330i? Shoot some opinions.

Many threads on this topic. The ZHP muffler is generally considered to sound pretty good.

+1 I have the ZHP muffler installed and am 110% satisfied.

I do also appreciate the Magnaflow exhausts, although a bit more aggressive and poppy

This 323 would most likely handle and drive better than a stock e46 m3.

I was looking at magna's, but I'll take a look at the ZHP! Thanks!

A stock muffler is best. We all know you arent driving a race car.

I have an AFE exhaust on mine, sounds great coming from stock. the low end is really deep and even gets burbles. but in the higher RPM range it would sound like its choking. This was because i still had the stock headers on the car which limits the car the most in the higher RPM. (5-6.5K). After changing the headers combined with the exhaust. It sounds perfect. first thing i suggest changing is the headers, thats the best bang/ sound for you buck. after that worry about the exhaust. here is my you tube video comparing stock vs just AFE exhaust before i put on the headers

topic is so very very "subjective" and numerous threads on it already

one persons great sounding muffler is another man's r1ce rocket

I added the ZHP muffler so it meets the stock suggestion. The difference is sound was evident the moment I started it.

Hate on me all you want but I say no muffler is the best muffler. Not too loud if the rest of the system is untouched, has a burble/pops, you could also do the golf tee mod right now, for free. If the muffler delete is too loud and you reused the old tips, like I did, you could just plug the vacuum line back in and quiet it down a bit.

I am really considering doing the headers on my 325. But, I will ad a dual in and dual out cat, or dual cats after the headers. I wonder how the headers with cats sounds with the rest of the exhaust left stock. I would love a bit more tone, but I am too old for rasp and loud.

I wouldn't bother touching headers if you still need cats, it's too expensive. Theres a first, second resonator, and muffler. Id go with magnaflows or some other aftermarket solution before bothering with headers

i have the full magnaflow manifold back , i like it

and it has a crossover, which a dual ex should have imo

i bought and had headers jet hot coated , then sold them for a loss , never installed

even had secondary o2 sensors turned off in my active autowerke tune

just too much of a fkn hassle in ny
