Pull out grill, reach in with a long screw driver and push the thing on the bottom of each box that the cable attaches to. If you do it right you'll hear it pop up. Might have to cut some plastic to reach

Hip...hip...horay...I was able to open hood...

I have had problem with ac...blah blah...I replaced a.c. Compressor and a.c. Condenser...when I disconnected hood latch cable at box near air box Imust have did a poor job of closing box. Short drive to has station and I dumped out all of my power steering fluid...when I returned home I could not open hood....Watcha numerous YouTube videos...and like always they make every thing look easy....tried to reach through grilled with screw driver....pulled grilled out (broke them)....still could not trigger latch....remove driver's side then signal light(yes with closed hood....and yes broke tab on light housing)...hopes to reach in and pull cable..but there was no cable to be found)...went to salvage your and found latch to study mechanism...after that an hour later (5-days he before and after work...not enough light at night to see)..latch open with nominal damage to peripherals...grilled needed to be replaced before this.....LESSON...if you disconnect your hood latch cable check and recheck fittings....IF you disconnect your power steering lines check and recheck connections...Perfect Storm disconnection of hood latch cable and disconnection of power steering lines...

Live is a bit better now...
