Newer LCM on a 04/2001 model

So I'm trying to get Xenons and LEDs for my 04/2001 325ci. Now I've read that my stock LCM does not support Xenons and LED's (dash will light up and will probably cause flickering) without some resistor ****ery. I've also read that apparently 09/2001 models do support after flashing, and fcl models all support those types of lights. My question is, can I fit an LCM from a fcl model (let's say from 2005) and the lights will work?

Needs to be coded, but yes

Your stock one can be coded for xenons (minus autoleveling which you don't have the wiring for anyway), but LEDs need an 09/2001 or newer.

I had the same issue not that long ago. What you need is an LCM that supports LEDs and xenon. It IS possible that it supports LED but is not yet programmed as it came out of a car without leds. If that is the case, you need to code it for leds (with NSC Expert). As NSC Expert didn't work on my computer, I had to find an LCM that came out of a car with leds, so it was already coded properly. All I had to do then was code the mileage and VIN number into it, and tadaa.
