No. Buy your own. Use AutoCheck as well, it's better anyway. If you are spending thousands on a car, you can buy a few history checks.

Car fax is BS anyway. I had a friend who used to own a bodyshop. All the time he got in wrecked cars, fixed them, and sold them to dealers to sell on their lots. No record of a wreck or anything.

Sounds like you have dishonest friend.

Nice try. How about we all come over and help you clean it up too?

Carfax is pretty bad. My car was totaled but still had a clean title. Only a "Accident over $400" listed on the record.

make a listing in ebay(it's free) put in the VIN number and then you'll be able to view the full history.

Thanks for the helpful advise..found out the car had an accident..you guys think this is a deal breaker? I mean, how bad does this hurt the value of the car? How much is this car worth, the car is in prestine condition.

I bought my old acura with two accidents just a few dents in both quarter panels car was perfectly fine. I can't speak of BMW though just make sure you check it out real well. Also, make sure the oil cap on the engine is in the middle of the engine and not at the front left which is a special emissions version which i just bought not knowing haha. The guy says no accident but it had an accident i wouldn't trust him much try to bring a mechanic with you.

Call him out on the accident as well. It was earlier this year so he obviously knows about it. It's a negotiation point you can use in your favor.

Funny how someone is preparing to spend $7K to $15K for a used E46 and they can't justify the $50 for 5 Carfax reports let alone $200-$300 on a PPI. In the end, they will both save you money.
